Our History

Power Health began life back in 1972 when the current chairman Mike McIver left his job as a health store manager and set up on his own as a supplier and distributor of health food supplements, working from the family home in Yorkshire. Despite the demands of a young family, the business flourished and moved to dedicated premises within the Yorkshire town of Pocklington, near York. With the acquisition of a number of familiar natural health brands, the company thrived and moved on to manufacture a range of it's own health food supplements, requiring a further move to a purpose built facility close to the nearby airfield.

During this time, Mike's wife Clare played a key role in the development of the company and as their four children grew up, they too steadily became more and more involved and now hold prominent positions. Daughter Vicky became Managing Director in 1999 with Dad Mike still maintaining an active interest as Chairman.

Today Power Health produces a comprehensive range of vitamins, minerals & botanical supplements, sports nutrition and natural hair and skincare products made onsite here in Pocklington; available in health food shops and pharmacies nationwide & over 50 countries worldwide. However, with its strong local roots and family bonds (both within management and the workforce) Power Health remains committed to the motto..."Made by our family for your family".

As well as our own extensive range of products, we also supply own label products to many major companies and have a reputation for manufacturing flexibility, rapid turnaround/response time, quality, and value for money.

	Power Health is a corporate member and supporter of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The trust has worked since 1946 to protect and promote the interests of Yorkshire's very special but vulnerable living environment. Their work ranges from protecting valuable sites as nature reserves - to promoting wider recognition of wildlife issues and their importance to life in Yorkshire.
	Power Health is pleased to support the Encephalitis Society, a national charity supporting people, providing information and promoting reseach into encephalitis. Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain, usually from a viral infection, and results in acquired brain injury.
