It’s something that happens to all women, fifty one is the average age for a woman in the UK, many women experience symptoms but women in Japan and Asia have less symptoms – we are talking about the menopause. This is when a woman’s ovaries no longer produce hormones and her periods stop. The NHS website says that symptoms include hot flushes and night sweats, loss of sex drive, vaginal dryness, palpitations, headaches, mood changes, urinary tract infections and problems sleeping. Hormone replacement therapy replaces female sex hormones when the body no longer produces them. It can reduce the symptoms of menopause and help to lower the risk of osteoporosis (thinning bones as women get older). The two types of HRT are oestrogen only and a combination of both female hormones oestrogen and progesterone.
If you suffer the unpleasant symptoms described above, then HRT sounds like the perfect solution. So what are the risks? According to Cancer Research UK, “the cancer most researched in relation to HRT is breast cancer. Research has looked into both oestrogen only and combined HRT. It has shown that HRT does increase breast cancer risk. And combined HRT increases breast cancer risk more than the oestrogen only type. The longer you take HRT, the more your breast cancer risk increases.”
But if breast cancer runs in your family, or you just don’t like the idea of taking medicine then what’s the alternative? Well, Soya Isoflavones might be a solution.
Julie A was suffering from typical menopausal symptoms in May last year “I had hot flushes, night sweats and problems sleeping. One of my colleagues suggested that I try Soya Isoflavones with Kudzu Root & Red Clover Tablets.I wasn’t keen on taking HRT, as I was concerned about the increased risk of breast cancer so I decided to give the natural option a try. It took about three months before I started to notice an improvement but my symptoms definitely improved. I really do believe that these tablets have helped and would recommend them to any woman as a safer alternative to Hormone Replacement Therapy. There has also been research in the news recently that shows it is linked to higher rates of Ovarian Cancer. ”
How do Soya Isoflavones work?
After the menopause, the level of oestrogen in a woman’s body falls, and it is thought that phytoestrogens may provide a “substitute” for the body’s own oestrogen, relieving symptoms such as hot flushes and dry skin. Powerhealth’s Soya Isoflavones with Kudzu Root & Red Clover Tablets are rich in isoflavones, the most active phytoestrogens in the human diet and so may help to relieve menopausal symptoms.
The interest in phytoestrogens has developed because of the evidence that women in Japan and Asia who eat foods rich in these compounds, don’t appear to suffer the same way with hot flushes and sweats as in the western world. In these countries, the diet is rich in soya containing foods, and menopausal symptoms are reported much less.Amongst the main phytoestrogens in the human diet are the isoflavones, which are found mainly in legume type plants such as soya and red clover. Kudzu root is also a rich source of different isoflavone compounds, so Power Health has incorporated high quality standardised extracts from all three of these plants in these tablets. Whilst Phytoestrogens can be sourced from your diet, this would involve eating large amounts of legume food plants, such as peas and beans, with varying phytoestrogen content. For most women who would like to make the menopause a little easier, taking a tablet is a convenient alternative. Powerhealth’s Isoflavones with Kudzu Root & Red Clover Tablets might be just the answer, currently on offer for only £6.92 for 30. Click here to buy them.
